About the Role

We are seeking an experienced financial professional to lead our accounting operations in Adelaide, AU. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparing and analysing financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and management reports for internal and external stakeholders
2. Maintaining compliance with Australian financial regulations, ATO requirements, and IFRS, including taxation compliance and lodgements
3. Conducting internal financial investigations, audits, and presenting findings to management or boards
4. Advising on cost management, risk control, and improvements in accounting systems and internal controls
5. Liaising with external auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders as needed
6. Preparing, reviewing, and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
7. Maintaining timely reporting to the Board, Audit & Risk Committee, and funding bodies
8. Overseeing general ledger reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of financial data
9. Preparing statutory financial reports in compliance with ACNC and ATO requirements
10. Leading the annual budgeting process in consultation with management and program leaders
11. Providing financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis
12. Supporting management in decision-making through financial insights
13. Overseeing financial reporting for grants, donations, and government contracts
14. Maintaining timely and accurate preparation of acquittals and compliance with funding agreements
15. Tracking restricted vs. unrestricted funds and managing donor reporting obligations
16. Overseeing payroll processes, including superannuation and leave provisions
17. Managing salary packaging and fringe benefits tax (FBT) exemptions specific to NFPs
18. Maintaining compliance with Fair Work, superannuation, and payroll tax obligations
19. Maintaining compliance with ACNC, ATO, ASIC, and other regulatory requirements
20. Supporting annual audit process and liaising with external auditors
21. Maintaining and updating finance policies, procedures, and internal controls
22. Supervising junior finance staff and providing mentoring, training, and development
23. Collaborating with program managers to strengthen financial literacy across the organisation
