About the Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide focused psychological strategies tailored to meet individual needs in a community-based mental health care setting.
You will work collaboratively across health service networks to plan and coordinate psychosocial interventions based on a case formulation approach.
The clinician will also participate actively within a multidisciplinary team, profession-specific network, and with consumers, families/carers, and extended agencies.
Potential for after-hours work upon negotiation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive assessment, brief and ongoing interventions, risk management, and care planning.
* Work collaboratively across health service networks to plan and coordinate psychosocial interventions.
* Participate cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team, profession-specific network, and with consumers, families/carers, and extended agencies.
Requirements:
Must have one of the following:
* General registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse, or AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
* Demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and skills; specifically, Brief Intervention Models of Care commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in a continuous learning environment.
* Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating working understanding of assessment and care planning.
* Sound understanding of public, non-government, and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting.
* Ideal demonstrated experience in providing alcohol and other drugs (AOD) counselling and support.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness.
* Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a member of a team.
* Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks.
* Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
* Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card.
