Rowville Secondary College has a full time opportunity that requires the services of an experienced Grounds and Maintenance Officer as part of the team that looks after 2 campuses with a combined student population of 1800+.
The Grounds and Maintenance Officer is responsible for the regular maintenance, upkeep and ongoing improvement of school facilities and grounds across two campuses at Rowville Secondary College.
Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, the Grounds and Maintenance Officer works within a small team to ensure the facilities meet the ongoing needs of the whole college.
The position requires attendance for duty during all school holiday periods and attracts 20 days annual leave.
Responsibilities
Provide general gardening and maintenance duties within the school environment:
1. Ensure the school grounds and surrounds are kept clean and tidy
2. Inspecting school buildings and grounds on a daily basis to ensure all is in order
3. Maintain the safety, cleanliness and appearance of all external areas including paths and hard surfaces; this will include regular blow downs
4. General gardening and landscaping duties as required
5. Ensure the maintenance of all school tools and maintenance/grounds equipment
6. Assist with the moving of furniture and equipment as required
7. Assist in ensuring classrooms and furniture are in order
8. Minor repairs to fixtures and fittings
9. Removal of graffiti
10. Minor repairs to doors, windows and furniture
11. Other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager or Principal team
12. Parks and Gardens experience or qualification
