Our Water Supply and Sewerage Team is seeking a skilled Fitter to maintain mechanical water and sewerage assets.
Your responsibilities include ensuring the provision of safe, reliable, and efficient water supply and sewerage services while contributing to a supportive team environment.
As a Fitter, you understand the importance of precision in your work, thrive in a hands-on role, and find satisfaction in the challenges of outdoor work.
Your dedication to your craft is evident in your ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to plant maintenance.
Beyond technical skills, you bring a collaborative spirit to the team, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
You'll Make An Impact By
Providing technical input in a relevant mechanical field
Providing mechanical data for asset management purposes
Providing beneficial and cost-efficient services in relation to refurbishment, repair and maintenance of water supply and sewerage and associated assets as per Council's plans and specifications
Testing and commissioning new installation of mechanical equipment
Assisting in the preparation of maintenance or new works contracts for Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic works
Assisting in updates of the asset database for all maintenance replacement and refurbishment of water and sewer mechanical and electrical equipment
What You'll Bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting and Machining
Demonstrated work experience in the trade both in machining and troubleshooting/diagnosis for plant maintenance and the subsequent work required
Basic computer skills
MR Driver's licence
We Would Also Love You To Have
Completed training in fluoride operations
Chlorine gas-handling qualifications
An MR (Medium Rigid) driver licence

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $78,691 to $91,453 including market allowance.
