About the role

We’re seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Robotics, Automation, and Mechatronics students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent full-time basis located at Wollongong Campus. As a teacher, you will play a key role in delivering hands-on, industry-relevant training that equips learners with the skills to thrive in an era of automation, robotics, mechatronics, and smart manufacturing.

We are looking for passionate and forward-thinking professionals with strong technical expertise in robotics, automation systems, and mechatronics—alongside Industry 4.0 technologies—and the ability to translate this knowledge into high-quality training delivery. In this role, you will design and deliver practical learning experiences, maintain and utilise advanced equipment and facilities, and ensure programs remain aligned with current and emerging industry practices. You will also contribute to curriculum development, collaborate with colleagues to modernise training approaches, and engage with industry partners to ensure relevance and innovation in program delivery.

At TAFE NSW, you will discover a diverse, dynamic, and collaborative environment, where you can innovate, create value, and do meaningful work. We provide ongoing training and professional development, health and wellbeing programs, and a variety of flexible working options.

- Technical Competence : Proven ability to apply and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies in robotics, automation, and mechatronics, with the capability to deliver hands-on, practice-based training.
- Collaboration & Communication : Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and industry stakeholders in a dynamic learning environment.
- Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document for details) OR a willingness to undertake our full-time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course

- Advanced Qualifications in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

- Digital Competence, including modernised digital applications, simulation tools, or connected learning platforms.
- Industry Collaboration, demonstrated through partnerships, projects, or co-designed training solutions with employers or community stakeholders.
