Responsibilities
* Oversee site-based mining related activities during the development of the Riverina underground mine.
* Oversee the LOM planning and budgeting for the Riverina underground mine.
* Evaluate and optimise all new and existing resources.
* Manage the development of working and effective underground mine designs, ensuring the integration and alignment with the LOM schedule.
* Facilitate effective daily, weekly, monthly and long term planning and forecasting for operational and capital expenditure and production physicals to achieve approved budgets.
* Identify and take corrective action for any variance from approved budgets (production and cost).
* Manage the activities of the mining contractor, with particular focus on contractual milestones, safety and cost.
* Manage mine production; mine planning and technical services ensuring that mining operation are carried out safely and efficiently.
* Analyse and report production and cost data on a monthly basis to ensure the mine is operating within overall production and budget forecasts. Identify and correct variance from standards and plan.
* Work closely with the Geology and Survey Department to ensure that production from all resources is optimised.
* Work closely with the Processing and Metallurgy department to deliver volume and blend of ore to the ROM.
* Ensure that clear communication lines with the Registered Manager with regards to safety, development, production, cost, technical and environmental issues.
* Oversee the development, implementation and use of policy, procedures and plans relating to mining related site infrastructure.
* Establish reporting systems for the underground operation.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
* WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
* 10+ years' experience in underground development and production environments.
* 5+ years in senior underground roles, including underground manager or alternate underground manager.
* Thorough understanding and working application of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
* Experience in the development (or expansion) of an underground operation.
* Experience in reviewing, negotiating, awarding and management of mining contractor.
* Strong working knowledge and application of mining software.
* Proven ability to meet mining targets whilst focusing on safety standards, operational efficiencies, productivity and cost effectiveness.
* Proven leadership and people management experience demonstrated by high levels of employee engagement, development and retention.
* Current WA manual driver's licence.
