Assessing Specialist Manager – Expressions of Interest 5 Month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract Location open to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth & Hobart We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Natural Hazard/Events Assessing team (FS5), on a 5-month fixed term contract. The Role The Assessing Specialist Manager is accountable for leading a team of Assessing Specialists who provide technical and assessing support services to Home Claims Assessing teams. The role is responsible for leading the Assessing Specialist team, providing both people leadership and technical expertise to support Home Claims Assessing nationally. The Assessing Specialist Manager develops team capability, drives process improvement, and ensures consistent delivery across training and onboarding for Home Claims Assessors, the coaching and capability uplift framework aligned to Assessing & Supply Chain strategic goals, and the effective management of the Assessing Specialist Program of Work. Key Responsibilities Process & Coaching Streamlining processes, driving strategic alignment, delivering consistent training/onboarding and coaching for Home Claims Assessors, and managing Assessing Specialist Program of Work and Subject Matter Expert contributions effectively and on time. Customer Service Deliver professional, high-quality timely service aligned with Suncorp’s standards, building trusted relationships to support best-practice outcomes through referrals and decision making. Respond to queries from Assessing Managers, Assessors, and other stakeholders; identifying barriers to delivery of exceptional customer experience through analysis and insights. Risks Promote and model a strong risk management culture aligned with the Group’s risk appetite by ensuring robust risk practices are in place, proactively identifying and addressing risks, monitoring outcomes, and maintaining full compliance with internal policies, procedures, legislation, and external requirements including the General Insurance Code of Practice and privacy obligations. People Leadership Lead and develop others through strong coaching, mentoring and performance management while aligning the team’s goals to strategy, fostering customer focused outcomes, and building trusted relationships across Home Claims and Assessing to deliver consistent, best practice results. Contribute to a cohesive leadership culture by modelling Suncorp’s Code of Conduct and behaviours, representing the Assessing Specialist team in key forums, providing exceptional stakeholder service, and supporting the safety and wellbeing of all.
