We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer - Procurement to support a high-performing Strategic Procurement team within a complex, fast-paced defence and aviation environment.
Hours: Monday to Friday
Start: ASAP start
Length: Ongoing - depending on client requirements
Hourly rate: $60.00 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role:
We are seeking a detail-focused Purchasing Officer - Procurement to support a high-performing Strategic Procurement team within a complex, fast-paced defence and aviation environment.
In this role, you will assist in delivering short to medium-term procurement outcomes, ensuring value for money, compliance with procurement frameworks, and timely delivery of purchasing activities across multiple programs.
You will play a key role in coordinating RFQs, purchase orders, supplier engagement, and contract administration activities across a structured and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the procurement team in the preparation, submission, and management of RFQs and tender packages
* Raise, issue, and track Purchase Orders to suppliers and subcontractors
* Assist in evaluating supplier quotations to ensure value for money and compliance with requirements
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate technical scope and pricing
* Maintain procurement registers, cost tracking tools, and supplier records
* Follow up with suppliers regarding quotations, task allocation, and performance outcomes
* Support invoice matching, dispute resolution, and accounts payable queries
* Track progress of work packages, approvals, and contractual deliverables
* Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance and KPI reporting
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes
Experience:
* Minimum 2+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing, contract administration, or project administration
* Experience raising purchase orders and managing RFQ processes
* Exposure to ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
* Strong Excel and data management skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
* Ability to work within compliance-driven and process-heavy environments
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
