About The Role
The Finance Graduate is an entry level professional role responsible for supporting Council’s finance function across a broad range of operational, reporting, compliance, and revenue activities. The role provides exposure across core finance disciplines including financial accounting, budgeting, income monitoring, grants accounting, and internal controls, while contributing toaccuratefinancial managementand informed decision making across the organisation.
As aFinance Graduate,you will gain a comprehensive understanding of all financial functions within Council across atwo-year fixed term period. The position is designed to help a capable graduate develop strong analytical andproblem-solvingskills and the ability to interpret financial information,identifyemerging issues, and provide clear advice and recommendations to managers.
The Finance Graduate works under supervision while progressively building the technical, commercial, and professional capabilityrequiredto transition into a more senior accounting or financial analyst role within Council.

A genuine interest in finance and a commitment to developing your skills in this field.Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.Strong analytical and numeracy skills, including the ability to interpret financial data, identify variances, and investigate discrepancies.High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain reliable financial records and supporting commitment to professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.Demonstrated commitment to delivering a high level of internal and external customer service.
