The Role:
The Manager Housing Policy is critical to steering DHUD and related portfolio objectives through identifying opportunities, shaping strategic direction, and leading projects aimed at the accelerated delivery of housing. The Manager, Housing Policy is responsible for the ongoing planning and management of complex projects and programs led by the Housing Policy directorate, including the provision of high-level reporting to the Executive Director, CE and Minister. You will hold the following responsibilities:
- Lead the formulation of housing policies and practices that align with key corporate directions, positioning the Housing Policy and Housing Roadmap to address future challenges and support the achievement of the Directorate’s strategic goals.
- Provide expert input into the development and prioritization of housing-related programs, projects, assets, systems, and services to ensure alignment with DHUD’s objectives and support the successful implementation of change initiatives.
- Undertake broad and complex professional activities such as policy investigations, assessments, strategic planning, and change management to drive continuous improvement in housing policy and service delivery.
- Collaborate across teams and with key stakeholders to ensure integrated policy development, foster innovation, and promote a culture of excellence and accountability within the Housing Policy function.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- Experience in strategic planning or policy development.
- Experience managing projects in complex policy environments.
- Experience in or knowledge of the infrastructure, housing or planning sectors.
- Significant experience in building robust positive working relationships across the public and private sector.
- Experience in producing documentation to assist in decision making of executive leadership, Minister and Cabinet.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
Remuneration:
ASO8– $121,107 p.a min – $125,679 p.a max.
