Ripley Valley State Secondary College is seeking applications for a Head of Department - English to lead English for Years 7–9. The successful applicant will shape the culture, curriculum, and pedagogical practices of the College with a clear focus on the English curriculum for Years 7 to 9. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum in English, proven leadership and communication skills, flexibility, and independence. This role involves collaborative work with the Head of Department - English (Years 10–12) and the wider Executive and Leadership Team to support diverse learning needs and promote effective literacy practices across the school.

About The Role
The ideal applicant should have a strong working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum in English and Senior Schooling pathways (QCAA), with preferred experience in moderation, assessment, and reporting guidelines, particularly related to the implementation of the 7–9 Australian Curriculum. The successful applicant will be required to case manage student behaviour and learning as part of the College's Multi-Tiered System of Support and should have experience in case management to improve student outcomes.
The successful applicant would ideally commence at the beginning of the 2026 school year.
