Staff Anaesthetist Role Overview
Our Department of Anaesthesia is seeking highly skilled professionals to fill multiple Staff Anaesthetist positions. These appointments will be for maximum term full-time and part-time roles.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist anaesthetic services across all campuses as required
* Undertake clinical support activities delegated by the Director of Anaesthesia
* Supervise junior medical staff
* Contribute to teaching on an informal and formal basis
* Participate in ongoing professional development, continuous improvement programs and clinical risk management
About the Ideal Candidate
* Be a Specialist in Anaesthesia registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency
* Have current knowledge and skills relevant to broad ranges of elective and emergency adult anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and acute pain management services
* Hold current knowledge and recent experience in high-risk Obstetric Anaesthesia services
* Have recent or current subspecialty experience in areas such as oncological, upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery
* Possess current knowledge and skill to provide occasional paediatric anaesthesia to the level of a Specialist Anaesthetist as required within the role
* Understand human resource management issues including workplace health and safety, infection control, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination
