Our client is a large enterprise government department, looking for a Platform Engineer AWS Cloud, to provide technical support and help develop our Cloud-based Microservices and Event-Driven Platform. This platform enables faster delivery of customer-focused, flexible business solutions. Microservices and event-driven architecture offer perks like simplified deployment, improved productivity, and scalable, flexible applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed technical knowledge of systems, services, and business usage.
- Build scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure DevOps-friendly platform components.
- Automate processes to improve efficiency.
- Resolve support issues and manage workloads effectively.
- Collaborate with QA to ensure appropriate testing of deliverables.
- Identify and escape complex risks and improvement opportunities.
- Manage changes following ITIL standards and maintain platform governance.
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and training materials.
- Assist with lifecycle patching for microservices tools like EKS, Trivy, Fluentbit, kube-bench, Metric Server, Nginx Ingress.
Requirements
- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, or AWS.
- Experience in lifecycle patching for microservice platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- AWS certifications highly regarded.
- Public and private sector experience desirable.
