We have an exciting opportunity in our Environment team. The Biodiversity Monitoring & Assessment Officer contributes to proactive management in biodiversity and continuous improvement in ecologically sustainable development and provides a high level of customer service to our Council, Community, Councillors and Customers.

This role reports to the Team Leader, Biodiversity & Environmental Planning and supports the ecological management of our unique city through the delivery of plans and programs associated with biodiversity, ecology, wildlife conservation and environmental assessment.

Shellharbour is home to a unique range of biodiversity values including vegetation communities that are listed under state and federal legislation as threatened and endangered. Shellharbour City Council is committed to promoting, preserving and enhancing the biodiversity values of our City including 6 key Wetlands and 14 key bushland reserves.

- Temporary part time, commencing from 6 January 2025 up to 5 August 2025
- 21 hours per week, 8.30am to 4.30pm three days per week
- Commencing salary range from $52,032 - $55,217 per annum (based on 21 hours per week)
- 11.5% superannuation
