Director of Cancer Services - with Head of Unit responsibility
Western Health is seeking a highly experienced medical professional to join us as Director of Cancer Services, with Head of Unit (Oncology/Haematology/Palliative Care) responsibility.
In this role, you will provide clinical leadership for both senior and junior medical staff across Cancer Services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. You will oversee the supervision and training of junior medical staff, maintain a strong focus on quality and safe care, and support the achievement of Western Health's strategic priorities. This position also involves managing financial budgets, staffing requirements, activity targets, and driving continuous improvement within Cancer Services.
As Director, you will play a key role in strengthening partnerships, including those with the Western and Central Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (WCMICS), the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and other health services across Victoria, ensuring integrated, world-class cancer care. This role is pivotal in leading Cancer Services while working closely with the Divisional Director and Clinical Services Director to drive service delivery improvements and embed evidence-based practices across the service.
