Permanent APS6 FMIS Systems Administrator role supporting enterprise finance systems across government.
Your new company
This opportunity sits within a large Federal Government department with a national remit supporting environmental priorities. The organisation operates at scale and maintains a strong focus on governance, integrity and enterprise‑wide financial capability.
Your new role
As an FMIS System Administrator (APS6), you will work within the Chief Financial Officer Division, supporting the operation, stability and continuous improvement of enterprise financial systems.
The role is part of a specialist system support and transformation function providing end‑to‑end support across finance, travel and expense management platforms, including TechnologyOne and Expense8. You will provide both operational system administration and strategic advice, ensuring systems are robust, user‑focused and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities will include providing high‑quality support and issue resolution to stakeholders, managing system access and master data, supporting system interfaces and processes, and contributing to ERP enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
The APS6 System Administrator will work closely with finance teams to support accurate reporting, compliance and informed decision‑making across the organisation.
This is a permanent role available via Section 26 transfer for current APS employees.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience as a TechnologyOne and/or Expense8 systems administrator, supported by a strong understanding of accounting, procurement and/or travel processes.
You will have highly developed communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into effective system solutions. An analytical and collaborative approach to problem‑solving, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Experience supporting stakeholders across large, complex organisations, producing high‑quality documentation, and providing operational guidance to team members will be highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications (or progression towards) in commerce, accounting, finance, economics, IT or a related field are desirable.
Applicants must be current ongoing APS employees at the APS6 level and must hold a current Baseline security clearance at the time of application. Australian citizenship is mandatory.
What you'll get in return
You will secure a permanent APS6 position within a nationally significant department, working on enterprise‑scale financial systems with experienced professionals. The role provides exposure to complex financial environments that support long‑term career development within the APS.
