Seeking an experienced Case Worker to provide ongoing support and advocacy for housing support to Women and Children escaping Family and Domestic Violence.
Working collaboratively with refuge and other supports services, you will be able to utilise your trauma informed best practice knowledge whilst working to ensure women and children secure safe housing solutions for their ongoing safety and wellbeing.
Duties will include:
- Supporting clients to obtain and maintain long term ongoing housing solutions
- Advocate on behalf of clients and provide information to assist clients secure safe housing
- Provide ongoing support and assertive case management where a client's tenancy is at risk
- Provide relevant information, support and advocacy to clients including court support and transport to appointments
- Provide intensive ongoing case management to ensure clients are fully supported once they have moved into housing
- Build strong relationships and networks with housing providers, real estate agents and government departments to ensure successful outcomes from client referrals
- Being active in the community with forums and solution based groups to provide insight and knowledge
This role is crucial to the well being of women and children and with the current housing crisis requires a proactive, solutions based approach coupled with strong case management and trauma informed knowledge.
