Planning Leadership Opportunity

About the Role:
The Planning Services team has an opening for an experienced statutory Planner to take on the position of Senior Planner. This new opportunity will enable you to grow professionally and contribute to the council's development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing development applications and subdivision referrals within set timeframes;
* Preparing high-quality reports based on required standards for Council, JDAP, and DRP;
* Providing support to colleagues as needed;
* Responding to customer inquiries promptly and in accordance with council values;
* Exercising delegation on planning applications according to the City's Delegated Authority Register; and
* Guiding and mentoring planners and their workloads.
Requirements:
* An adaptable, experienced Planner who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic organisation;
* Applicants must demonstrate through their CV and covering letter that they meet the following capabilities:
o Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Urban and Regional Planning;
o Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable;
o In-depth knowledge and experience in applying planning legislation;
o A high-level working knowledge of complex issues affecting land use management and demonstrated ability to analyse and proactively resolve issues with minimal guidance;
o Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively rather than competitively and with a client focus, utilising effective communication skills.
* Advanced organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks;
* Strong report writing skills;
* C Class Driver's Licence.
