Community Development Officer
This is a challenging role that requires an individual with strong community engagement skills to develop and deliver programs that meet the needs of the local community.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have a strong understanding of community development principles and practices, with experience in program planning and evaluation.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and evaluate community development programs and events
* Support community groups, volunteers, and service providers through advice, coordination, and promotion
* Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, schools, service agencies, and community stakeholders
* Identify and apply for grant funding opportunities to support local initiatives
* Coordinate major community events including Australia Day and Sports Awards
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies
* Prepare reports, policies, budgets, and correspondence for council consideration
Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
* Current C class driver's license
* Working with children check
