Our client is seeking a passionate Human Resources Business Partner (internally titled People & Engagement Partner) with generalist Human Resources experience and interest to join a newly formed HR team at a prestigious independent school based on Sydney's Lower North Shore.

This brand-new role will work closely with one other People & Engagement Partner, and the Chief People Officer to support staff across the school with their day-to-day HR needs. With support from the People and Engagement Coordinator you will be responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of all staff as well as provide relevant policy guidance and interpretation.

**The Role**:

- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues including conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Work closely with the Chief People Officer to provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line managers (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Provide guidance and input on organisational restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Develop and implement generalist people management systems, policies, procedures and programs to support best practice
- Post-graduate qualifications in Human Resource Management or related field
- Relevant industry experience working as a HR Business Partner or HR Generalist
- Thorough knowledge of up-to-date Human Resources legislation
- Ability to contribute effective, collaborative, dynamic and innovative ideas in areas of people and management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clearly, concisely and to a high standard
- High level interpersonal and people management skills
