This is a 6‐month fixed‐term, part‐time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension.
The Role
Balcatta Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a friendly and passionate English Teacher to join our team. The successful applicant will have professional knowledge, practices, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school English curriculum and proven success working with students across a range of ability levels. Experience in lower school year groups, teaching English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD), and facilitating literacy support with smaller groups is desirable. The successful applicant should be versatile, committed to student achievement, willing to commit to the school community, and able to use data to make evidence‐based decisions.
Responsibilities
In this role you will create a learning environment that engages and challenges students, incorporate technology, accommodate individual student needs, provide timely feedback to students and parents, and celebrate curiosity and creativity.
Qualifications
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; strong commitment to achieving high educational outcomes for all students through an inclusive and safe learning environment; excellent teamwork skills; and a commitment to promote learning and excellence for all students. Experience with High‐Impact Teaching Strategies and the school's Whole School Instructional Framework is desirable.
