Position Summary

Contributes to research, data collection for quality processes & participation in education, training and supervision of medical registrars.

Selection Criteria
Specialist Medical Qualifications registerable by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Royal Australasian College of Physicians fellowship or equivalent
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines.
Key Accountabilities
Provides high quality patient care using evidence based, cost effective approach.
Ward review of inpatients referred by the medical staff of other units.
Participate in supervision and support of the General medical Registrars.
Where appropriate referral to subspecialty physicians on-call, or intensivist on-call for appropriate clinical support.
Participation in regular ward rounds with the Medical Registrar.
Liaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating team.
Actively and regularly participates in peer review and Divisional Morbidity and Mortality Meetings.
Contributes to Internal Medicine Service meetings and educational activities and collaborates with related medical services.
Participates in departmental research projects and audits.
Works effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in the collection of data related to activity of the General medical service.
Follows hospital policies and procedures.
Contributes to the development of KPI's that will assist in the assessment of performance.
Clinical Research Protocol Development & Data Collection
Participates in clinical trials (if appropriate)
Participation in data collection related to KPI's of the General Medical Service.
Trains residents, medical students and participates in other educational activities
Participates in internal and external educational programs.
