We are looking for a commercially minded and execution focused Senior Legal & Commercial Manager to support the business as we scale across multiple markets. This role will sit at the intersection of legal, commercial, and operational decision making, helping ensure the business is set up to scale efficiently, manage risk, and operate with clarity as complexity grows.
You will work closely with senior leadership across operations, finance, and product teams to provide practical, commercially grounded legal support and to bring structure and discipline to key business processes. This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys being embedded in the business, thrives in a fast moving environment, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity while building scalable frameworks.
This role will have a stronger emphasis on legal advisory and contract ownership as the business continues to scale.
Responsibilities
* Commercial Contracts & Legal Advisory
* Own end to end contract management for merchant, supplier, and partner agreements
* Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with a strong focus on commercial outcomes and risk management
* Lead end-to-end contract drafting, review, and negotiation across commercial deals, partnerships, and supplier agreements
* Advise stakeholders on key legal and commercial considerations, including pricing structures, SLAs, liabilities, and termination rights
* Support contract negotiations, amendments, and renewals in partnership with internal teams
* Coordinate with external legal counsel where required
* Establish and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and governance frameworks
* Own and continuously improve Terms & Conditions and broader legal frameworks across the business
* Provide practical, commercially grounded legal advice to enable business growth while managing risk
* Commercial Governance & Risk Management
* Build and embed scalable processes to improve visibility, consistency, and control across commercial activities
* Maintain contract registers, renewal calendars, and obligation tracking to ensure compliance and reduce risk
* Identify and proactively manage legal, commercial, and operational risks as the business scales
* Support the business in making informed, commercially sound decisions in a fast moving environment
* Identify and advise on legal and commercial risks, supporting informed decision making across the business
* Support on M&A and strategic transactions, including drafting and reviewing relevant agreements
* Own procurement for SaaS tools and key operational vendors
* Lead vendor selection, onboarding, contract negotiations, renewals, and cost optimisation
* Partner with Finance on budgeting, approvals, and cost controls
* Monitor vendor performance, dependencies, and commercial risks
* Access & Systems Governance
* Oversee vendor and system access management across SaaS and third-party tools
* Coordinate user access provisioning and removals in line with role changes and offboarding
* Maintain access registers to ensure visibility and auditability
* Work closely with People & Culture, Operations, and IT/Security (where applicable) to ensure access is appropriate, up to date, and secure
Qualifications
* Qualified lawyer (LLB or equivalent), with 3‐6+ years' post‐qualification experience in commercial or corporate law (in‐house or private practice)
* Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, with a clear understanding of legal and commercial risk
* Proven ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders
* Experience working in fintech, payments, SaaS, or another fast‐paced, regulated environment is highly desirable
* Experience in vendor management, procurement, and cost control is highly desirable
* Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and navigating cross‐functional priorities
* Strong commercial judgement with high attention to detail
* Clear and confident communication, with the ability to translate legal concepts into practical business outcomes
* Ability to operate at pace and manage multiple priorities
* Structured and process‐oriented, with the ability to build frameworks from scratch
* Proactive, solutions‐focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership
* Comfortable working with ambiguity and driving clarity in evolving environments
