Your Role
As a Senior Compositor, you will combine live action and computer-generated elements into visual effects shots that realize the vision and creative direction of the client and Visual Effects Supervisor. Your work will involve handling live action plates, 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering elements, and color grading to create seamlessly integrated shots.
Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in fine arts, such as photography and photographic lighting, along with a good sense of composition, color, and design. However, success is also possible with experience and a portfolio in one area, provided you are eager to learn.
Responsibilities
* Use artistic and technical skills to evaluate approaches for assigned shots in collaboration with the Compositing Supervisor and VFX Supervisor.
* Create high-quality complete shots that maintain overall look, color balance, and quality, ensuring consistency across sequences.
* Collaborate with team members to determine aesthetic solutions and provide feedback during dailies.
* Mentor Apprentice / Jr. Artists and assist them with their shots.
* Meet project milestones within deadlines.
* Participate actively in dailies and creative problem-solving sessions.
Skills and Qualifications
* Possession of a degree in Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, Design, or Photography is preferred but not mandatory.
* At least 3 years of relevant feature film experience.
* Proven compositing skills demonstrated through a showreel.
* Problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.
* Fluency in Nuke.
* Python and/or C++ experience is a plus.
* Ability to write Nuke gizmos is advantageous.
* Including a reel or portfolio with your application is highly recommended.
