Christou Consulting Group (CCG) provides strategic CFO services to a portfolio of Australian SMEs across construction, healthcare, logistics, and related industries. We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented
Senior Finance Professional
to support the Director in delivering high-quality financial reporting, analysis, and insights to clients.
This role is ideal for an experienced accountant or analyst who enjoys "hands-on" work—cleaning, transforming, and presenting data—while gaining exposure to strategic finance, performance analysis, and client advisory processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monthly Reporting and Pack Preparation
* Receive core financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) from Xero and other sources.
* Transform data into the CCG-branded
Monthly CFO Pack
(PowerPoint format), ensuring accuracy, visual consistency, and meaningful commentary.
* Reconcile key balances and highlight material movements or anomalies.
* Maintain version control and archiving of monthly client reports.
2. Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis
* Prepare supporting analysis upon request—e.g., margin breakdowns, cost-driver trends, WIP summaries, client-specific KPIs.
* Use Excel and PowerPoint to communicate findings clearly and concisely.
* Ensure all work is documented and repeatable for future automation or process improvement.
3. Forecasting, Budgeting & Insights
* Assist in building or maintaining financial forecasts and budgets under guidance.
* Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making.
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within client data.
4. Stakeholder Engagement (as required)
* Join selected client or third-party meetings with the Principal CFO to provide technical input or commentary on reports.
* Prepare pre-meeting materials and assist with follow-up actions or data requests.
Key Attributes
* Exceptional attention to detail and pride in presentation quality.
* Strong analytical and Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc.).
* Working familiarity with Xero and confidence handling exports or reconciliations.
* Strong PowerPoint skills—able to turn numbers into visually clean, professional packs.
* Reliable, deadline-driven, and able to manage recurring workflows.
* Curious, commercially minded, and eager to understand client performance drivers.
Experience & Qualifications
* 5+ years in accounting, financial analysis, or management reporting.
* Experience within SME or advisory environments highly regarded but not essential.
* CPA/CA qualification (or progress towards) preferred but not essential.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
