Overview
Join ASIC as a UX/UI Designer to help ensure a fair, strong, and efficient financial system for all Australians. In this role you will contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities by designing user‑centric solutions that protect consumers and maintain the integrity of the financial system.
Team
The Digital, Data & Technology Office's Human‑Centred Design (HCD) Hub is an enterprise‑wide service that delivers service design and UX/UI expertise. You will work alongside product owners, project managers, and business teams to implement compliant, user‑focused solutions.
Responsibilities
* Plan, conduct and analyze all aspects of user research from conceptual testing to usability testing.
* Facilitate stakeholder sessions to translate product and business needs into actionable insights.
* Create user journeys, wireframes, and design artefacts from low‑fidelity concepts to high‑fidelity UI solutions.
* Apply and contribute to ASIC's Foundation Design System, ensuring consistent look, feel, and behaviour across digital channels.
* Promote UX and UI design principles across the organization.
* Collaborate with developers and engineers, maintaining a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, CMS, and database structures.
Qualifications
* Minimum seven years' experience in a UX/UI design role focused on digital products and services.
* A strong portfolio, ideally including government, public, legal, or financial sector work.
* Experience in research, discovery, and iterative development within an HCD framework.
* Proficiency with a robust design system and Figma tooling and plugins.
* Ability to synthesize research findings into UX insights, identify themes, and define desired outcomes.
* Experience developing user journeys, wireframes, and high‑fidelity design artefacts.
* Good understanding of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, CMS).

* Location: Sydney or Melbourne
* Salary: $127,641 – $144,946 depending on experience + 15.4% superannuation
* Contract: 24‑month Fixed Term
