**About your new role**
Based out of Rockhampton or Toowoomba, you'll be working in the Customer Metering Department, within the Metering Operations Southern team which is made up of a dedicated team of 12, and reports to the Metering Supervisor Southern.
As a Metering Technician 1, you'll be responsible for providing a specialised technical service for Metering Providers, Customers and Consultants around installing, commissioning, inspecting and maintaining low voltage & high voltage metering installations across regional Queensland.
You'll provide technical advice and scoping works for Metering Operations, the customer (or their agent) on metering installation compliance with the Electrical Connections & Metering Manual and the Queensland Electricity Act and Regulations.
You're also required to independently investigate meter queries, identifying and rectifying faults in both metering and remote communications equipment. As well as provide reports on the metering installation compliance to National Electricity Rules for both energy consumption, and registration to the Metering Supervisor Southern, Meter Provider and/or Responsible Person.
This role will require regular travel across regional Queensland. While on the road you will get to visit various locations across QLD and receive applicable living away from home allowances.
The base remuneration for your new role is from $89,299k - $105,503k per annum + applicable allowances + 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight.

**About you**
You're trade qualified who holds a current Queensland Electrical Workers' and Contractors Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic and a current 'C' Class drivers' licence.
You'll have a strong working knowledge of the Electricity Act, Electrical Safety Act, and Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations, with the ability to develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of National Electricity Rules - Chapter 7 and quality systems (AS/NZS ISO 9000 Series). [NE1]
Your well-developed interpersonal communication skills will be required to ensure you develop good working relationships with team members and stakeholders, to identify and understand customer needs. You'll also need good time management skills as you need to plan, prioritise work, and co-ordinate resources to deliver agreed outcomes on time.
