Description
As the Payroll Manager, you will have full ownership of end‑to‑end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand (250 employees). You will lead all pay cycles, oversee compliance with legislation, manage time & attendance integrity, and act as the organisation's key payroll expert.
You will also play a pivotal role in improving systems, processes, reporting, and governance to support ongoing business improvement.
* Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing across AU & NZ (250 employees), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Oversee all statutory obligations including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, WorkCover, STP and IRD submissions.
* Maintain payroll system data integrity, including onboarding/offboarding updates and employee changes.
* Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure payroll accuracy and legislative compliance.
* Interpret Awards, EAs, and legislative changes in partnership with HR.
* Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and compliance documentation.
* Respond to payroll queries professionally across the business and support continuous improvement of processes and policies.
Profile
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance frameworks, and reporting requirements.
* Confident interpreting Awards, EAs, and industrial instruments.
* Proven experience improving payroll processes, systems, or workflows.
* Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational ability.
