Overview
Lead Systems Technician - Commercial Fire Service Technician at Vector Security. Location: West Melbourne, FL.
Summary As a Lead Systems Technician - Commercial & Service Installation, you will manage integrated systems including Burg and Fire Alarms, Access Control, and Video Solutions. You will apply a strong technical aptitude, interpret/design integrated systems in compliance with local jurisdiction requirements, and provide effective interpersonal communication. You will also assist in training less experienced technicians.
What You'll Do
- Install/Service Integrated Systems: Complete installation and/or servicing of various types of integrated systems, including burglar alarms, card access, video, and fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot integrated systems in high-end residential and commercial applications.
- Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the software and programming for the primary manufacturers used by the branch.
- Employ logic and experience to work through system and integrated system issues.
- Assist in design and deployment of projects in concert with local and state building codes and communicate effectively with AHJs.
- Interact and communicate at all levels of the organization and with external customers.
- Share knowledge, ideas, and solutions.
- Train & Mentor Technicians: Review work of Entry Level through Level 2 technicians on shared job sites and provide training to correct any errors.
- Responsible for the work done by all technicians on his/her jobs.
What You'll Need
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; 5+ Years of industry experience in Fire detection and signaling systems (Required).
- Certification/License: State licensing (FASA/BASA) - Required; valid driver’s license; ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level 2 or equivalent - Preferred; NICET Fire or Video Level 2 - Preferred; Completion of minimum training/certification checklist per Technician Career Path OR equivalent experience and demonstrated expertise.
- Communication: Ability to communicate professionally with various individuals to provide superior customer service.
- Technical: Assists in design of integrated systems; understands software and programming for primary manufacturers used by the home branch; can decipher/design integrated systems in conjunction with local jurisdiction requirements.
