Job Summary
The Import–Export Operations Director oversees global trade operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods across international borders. This role leads import/export teams, manages customs and logistics processes, and aligns operations with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage import/export operations, including customs compliance, logistics, and documentation
* Develop and implement global trade strategies, policies, and procedures
* Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, sanctions, and customs requirements
* Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other partners
* Optimize supply chain operations to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and mitigate risk
* Supervise, mentor, and develop operations and compliance teams
* Monitor KPIs, operational performance, and trade compliance metrics
* Collaborate with procurement, sales, and finance teams to support business objectives
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field (Master's preferred)
* 10+ years of experience in import/export, global trade, or logistics operations
* In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, international trade laws, and shipping documentation
* Proven leadership and team management experience
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process optimization skills
* Experience with ERP, WMS, or TMS systems preferred

Pay: $315,000.00 per year
