IT Operations Manager
About the role
The IT Operations Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day reliability, security and performance of Horizon Bank’s technology environment. This role ensures core systems, identity and access controls, endpoints and vendor‑provided platforms operate securely and in line with regulatory, risk and business expectations.
Reporting to the CIO, the role translates strategic direction into stable, well‑governed and resilient technology services, and supports the operational delivery of technology projects and initiatives.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure the availability, performance and stability of Horizon Bank’s technology services
* Own and manage incident, problem and change processes, acting as escalation point for major incidents
* Oversee Microsoft 365, identity platforms, endpoints and system configuration standards
* Manage identity and access controls including MFA, privileged access and access reviews
* Support day‑to‑day security operations, including alert triage, phishing response and security incident coordination
* Coordinate technology vendors (core banking, payments, cloud, security and infrastructure providers), including incidents, upgrades and releases
* Support the delivery of technology projects by coordinating tasks, managing dependencies, working with vendors and internal stakeholders, and tracking risks and progress
* Support audits, assurance activities, business continuity and disaster recovery planning
* Identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement to reduce operational risk and downtime
About you
* Strong experience managing IT operations in a regulated or risk‑aware environment
* Proven ability to keep systems secure, reliable and well supported
* Hands‑on experience across infrastructure, devices and access management
* Experience supporting or coordinating technology projects and service improvements
* Comfortable working with external technology providers and internal stakeholders
* Strong problem‑solving skills with a practical, improvement‑focused mindset
* Clear communicator able to provide concise advice on risks, issues and priorities
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT operations, infrastructure or service delivery
Desirable
* Experience in banking or a similar highly regulated industry
* Experience with Ultracs core banking system
* Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related field
