We are seeking a highly skilled Application Systems Engineer with strong experience in Azure DevOps and Azure Application deployment to maintain a portfolio of applications and their associated automated deployment pipelines.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality software solutions by integrating development and operations best practices across the full software development lifecycle. The role is part of a broader team providing application operations, maintenance and support to our key customers. This Perth-based, full-time, onsite role requires on‑call support on a rotational basis after hours and may include overtime. Government Clearance (NV2) is mandatory.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with the client's Infrastructure Engineering Services provider to deliver routine maintenance to the business applications portfolio, and the applications underlying infrastructure and various ICT environments.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts, and Test Plans).
Collaborate with your team of application support and maintenance engineers to ensure seamless integration, testing, and delivery of solutions.
Configure build and release pipelines, including deployment gates, approvals, and rollback strategies.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments using tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
Apply security, performance, and cost‑optimisation best practices in cloud development and deployment.
Support version control, branching strategies, and code review processes using Git and Azure DevOps.
Maintain technical documentation and provide training/support to internal teams on DevOps tools and practices.
Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows and resolve deployment issues.
Manage infrastructure changes required to support applications, including .NET framework updates, certificate configuration, related configuration management and environment‑level adjustments.
Hands‑on application development and maintenance activities as a member of the application support and maintenance team.
What We Are Looking For
NV2 clearance is mandatory.
Strong proficiency with Azure cloud development and Azure DevOps.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex deployments.
Robust programming skills in one or more of the following: C#, .NET, AngularJS, React.
Proficiency in automation tools and DevOps practices.
Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
Microsoft Azure Developer Associate or DevOps Engineer Expert certification is preferred.
