This unique role at Youth Off The Streets provides positive youth engagement in innovative education by assisting young people from all backgrounds develop their capacity to take responsibility for their lives.
The role will provide culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the school, as well as assisting with implementing culturally appropriate teaching strategies and activities that encourage leadership and provide opportunity to further study or employment.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Demonstrated networking ability with knowledge of community development issues
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating confidence in engaging young people
* Ability to build supportive relationships with students and families within the school
* Understanding of the needs of First Nations children and young people
* Understanding of adolescent development, drug use and behaviour
