The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner - Operations, to join our health and safety team in our Brisbane office.
The Health & Safety Business Partner - Operations will provide leadership, guidance, and support to the internal management team and the operational and corporate workforce in all aspects of health and safety.
The role drives continuous improvement of the Health & Safety culture throughout the Operations business, incorporating the Surat Basin (Roma and Wandoan) offices, Queensland.
Key Accountabilities :
* Partnering with senior leaders to ensure management / business plans integrate and articulate health and safety objectives that drive ongoing improvement in performance outcomes.
* Supporting management by promoting, developing, and implementing strategies that continue to grow a positive safety culture.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, procedures, guidelines, and government regulations and legislation.
* Reporting on H&S metrics into the company’s safety data and performance report. Utilising safety reporting systems and tools.
* Supporting the Senex emergency response process.
* Ensuring implementation of the contractor management process through review and input of all H&S requirements into contracts and the tender evaluation processes, as well as conducting pre-qualification audits of contractors and service providers.
* Supporting the development of Significant Hazard Management plans for contractors and ongoing verification plans.
* Maintaining a regular field presence by reviewing and visiting operational worksites on a regular basis.
* Working in partnership with People & Culture and Operations to develop a fit-for-purpose competency framework.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have :
* Formal HSE Qualifications and Certification to a minimum of Diploma Level.
* Demonstrable Health and Safety experience in oil and gas or a similar industry.
* Previous leadership experience in an H&S role is essential.
* Knowledge and understanding of the applicable ISO / AS / NZ Management system standards.
* Sound working knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Practices.
* Strong understanding of Queensland WHS Regulations and the Petroleum and Gas (Production & Safety) Act.
* Experience with BowtieXP is highly desirable.
* Proven analytical and communication skills.
* Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with senior management, stakeholders, and act as an SME advisor and coach / mentor.
