About Us
Our Opthalmology team is a specialist outpatient service that delivers general ophthalmology services across Central Queensland as part of Queensland's public health system.
Based out of Rockhampton Hospital, our Opthalmology team includes VMO Ophthalmologists with a variety of specialties, a PHO, orthoptists, nurses and administration staff.
About the Role
Deliver evidence-based Orthoptic services as part of a multidisciplinary Ophthalmology Team, working independently across single or multiple modalities.
Undertake referral management to support the Ophthalmologist.
Develop professional competence and build the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to deliver Orthoptic to accepted professional standards.
Responsibilities
This includes, but is not limited to:
Testing visual acuity and intraocular pressure
Performing biometry (IOLMaster and A-scan)
Conducting refraction (objective and subjective)
Performing scanning and image capture
Administering computerised visual field testing
Conducting amblyopia and squint assessments
Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to work experience students and those undertaking observational clinical placements.
As your experience grows, you'll also deliver clinical education for students and less experienced staff, with the support of senior clinicians.
About You
The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree qualification (or equivalent diploma prior to) in Orthoptics and registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board.

Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 is comprised of:
