People & Culture Business Partner

Victoria | Multi‐site role.

Salary: $120,000 + super + car allowance.

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable People & Culture Business Partner to support a large, operationally complex portfolio across multiple sites throughout Victoria, with a strong on‐the‐ground presence at key locations mainly in the Northwest. This is an experienced, hands‐on business partnering role, requiring a mature mindset, sound judgment, and the confidence to work in a fast‐paced, event‐driven environment. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to leaders, capable of balancing strategic thinking with practical, site‐based execution.

Opportunity

This role works closely with operational leaders to embed robust people practices, manage complex employee relations matters, and support workforce planning across a diverse portfolio. You will be highly visible across sites and relied upon to bring calm, clarity and direction in complex people matters. This position will suit someone who is a strong self‐starter, naturally forward‐thinking, and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high professional standards.

Key Areas of Focus

* Partnering with leaders across all Victorian sites, with a strong presence at key priority locations mainly in the Northwest
* Managing complex employee relations and industrial matters, including performance, misconduct, grievances, and investigations
* Coaching and influencing leaders with differing leadership styles and varying levels of capability
* Supporting organisational change, workforce planning, and forward planning across all sites
* Contributing to new projects, helping to evolve our people processes and experiences
* Acting as a steady, mature P&C presence in high‐pressure and high‐visibility environments
* Interpreting workforce data and identifying trends, risks, and proactive interventions
* Collaborating closely with safety and operational teams to support health, safety, and wellbeing outcomes
* Stepping in on sensitive child safety–related employee matters, including performance management and communication guidance
* Providing surge operational P&C support during peak or event‐driven periods which could include assistance with recruitment, delivering training and responding to employee queries

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

* Partner with OHS teams to reinforce a positive and compliant safety culture
* Support managers in fitness‐for‐work matters, injury management, and return‐to‐work processes
* Champion psychosocial safety and employee wellbeing in a demanding operational environment

About You

You are a confident, resilient, and experienced HR professional with the gravitas to influence at all levels. You are comfortable working autonomously across multiple sites and are known for your strong judgement and discretion when handling sensitive matters.

Candidate Fit

* Strong generalist HR background with deep employee relations expertise
* Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
* Ability to operate strategically and tactically in a fast‐paced, multi‐site environment
* Sound judgement and discretion when managing sensitive and complex issues
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and act on workforce data
* Resilience and flexibility to support extended hours and event‐driven operations
* Demonstrated capability in forward planning across multiple sites

Qualifications & Experience

* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline
* Significant experience in an HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory role
* Proven experience managing complex ER/IR matters
* Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation

Mandatory Requirements

* Current Working with Children Check
* First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
* Valid driver's licence and capacity to travel regularly across Victorian sites
