Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Secondary Education Specialist to provide leadership and support in high school special education departments.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with varying special instructional needs and possess knowledge of the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) curriculum and policies related to special education.
Responsibilities include adapting instructional programs and materials to meet the needs of students with disabilities, observing and analyzing teaching skills, and assessing delivery of curriculum to students with disabilities.
Collaboration with the school community and Division of School-Based Special Education Services is also essential. Excellent communication and human relations skills are required.
A Master's degree or Master's equivalency from an accredited college or university in special education, guidance, general education, educational administration and supervision, or a related field is necessary. Certification in a secondary content area is desirable.
Three years or more of successful classroom experience as a special education teacher working with students with varying special instructional needs is preferred.
Knowledge of the six performance standards established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS) is required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Master's degree or Master's equivalency in special education or related field

* Three years or more of classroom experience as a special education teacher
