A major bank is seeking an IMS Systems Programmer to join their team on a 12 month contract highly likely to extend. Role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide.
Responsibilities:
* Install, customize, and maintain IMS components (IMS DB, IMS TM, IMS Connect, IMS Tools, etc.)
* Perform IMS system upgrades, RSU/PUT maintenance, and version migrations
* Configure IMS subsystems, exit routines, security settings, logging, and recovery processes
* Troubleshoot complex system-level incidents, abends, performance issues, and operational problems
* Manage SMP/E environments, APPLY/ACCEPT processes, and product maintenance
* Support high-availability, disaster recovery, and parallel sysplex configurations
Key Skills / Experience:
* 5+ years of experience as an IMS System Programmer in large enterprise or financial environments
* Deep knowledge of IMS architecture, system configuration, IMS utilities, exits, and logs
* Strong experience with z/OS, SMP/E, JES2, RACF, VTAM, TCP/IP, and related subsystems
* Hands-on experience with IMS Connect, OTMA, and IMS TM
* Strong understanding of sysplex technologies, DR strategies, and performance tuning
* Excellent debugging, diagnostics, and problem-resolution skills
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
