Overview of the role

Nyrstar Port Pirie are seeking motivated people to join our Apprenticeship Program Intake in February 2026. You will learn, develop skills and be supported throughout a 4‑year program by dedicated mentors and experienced tradespeople.

Become a qualified Electrician, Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker at the Port Pirie site and gain hands‑on experience to maintain plant and equipment that produces the world's metals – think lead for producing batteries and hybrid and electric vehicles and silver to produce switches for turning circuits on and off and making coins, and jewellery

About you

We are seeking people who are motivated to learn and develop their skills over a 4‑year program with the drive to become qualified, competent and confident tradespeople. You will be committed to learn through hands‑on practical experience, coupled with RTO (registered training organisation) study. With an overriding commitment to Safety, Health, Hygiene and Environment you will demonstrate a keen interest in your chosen trade, either through school, work experience, hobbies or similar. And last, but definitely not least, a positive attitude and focus on team and individual performance is highly regarded

To be considered for a role, you must have completed Year 11 by the end of 2025 and be over 16 years of age.
