Frankston Eye and Laser Centre is a comprehensive eye care service provider servicing Melbourne’s beautiful southern suburbs. We are seeking an orthoptist to join our team, commencing immediately or as soon as possible. This is a permanent position either full or part time, approx. 3 -5 days per week. The position would suit either experienced orthoptists or new graduates.
This is an exciting, varied, and interesting role, working with a fun and close-knit team with a great workplace culture. You will have the amazing opportunity to join one of our surgeons regularly in theatre for his cataract lists, as well as the possibility of joining him in the Laser eye surgery suite. You will be helping to manage medical supplies, occasional administrative duties at the reception, and you will also have one or two patient-free sessions per week dedicated to admin/research activities. Applicants with a strong interest in research will be preferred.
Requirements:
1. Tertiary qualifications in Orthoptics
2. Registration with Orthoptics Board of Australia.
3. Excellent communications skills and presentation.
4. A caring, patient-focused attitude.
5. Basic knowledge and skills in Cataract, Laser Vision Correction, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Medical Retina and General Ophthalmology clinics under supervision of Ophthalmologist.
6. Accurate refractions and measurements
Desirable but not essential:
Experience with IOL Master 700, Topography, Cirrus OCT, Humphrey field analysis.
