Details: This position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the Directorate’s proactive agenda on Cabinet matters, including the legislation program. A key function of the role is managing the circulation of Cabinet documents and coordinating timely, high‑quality input across the Directorate, as well as responding to material from other ACT Government directorates.
The role provides advice to the Education Directorate’s executive and staff on Cabinet processes, requirements and timeframes, and maintains strong, productive relationships with the Cabinet Office, Cabinet Liaison Officers, Directorate executives and other key stakeholders. It ensures rigorous quality control by proofreading and critically reviewing Cabinet material prepared for Ministerial and executive consideration, and manages compliance with the ACT Cabinet Handbook, Legislative Assembly requirements and relevant Standing Orders.
The position also builds capability across the Directorate by facilitating training on Cabinet processes, document preparation and Cabinet security. In addition, it contributes to the broader work of the Ministerial and Corporate Reporting team through research, coordination and the preparation of briefings, correspondence and other documents. While the role does not include direct staff supervision, it requires strong coordination, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills to support effective decision‑making and uphold government standards.
