Basic Trainee – Acute Care (2027 Intake) | Hobart Tasmania An opportunity is available within the Tasmanian Department of Health for Basic Trainees in Acute Care to join the 2027 intake at Royal Hobart Hospital. Location: Royal Hobart Hospital, Hobart TAS Position Type: Fixed-term, Full-time Duration: 12 months (1 February 2027 – 7 February 2028) Salary: $134,930 per annum (MP Level 5) superannuation About the Role This position is designed for junior doctors seeking exposure to high-acuity hospital medicine, with structured experience across Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia. Trainees will complete: 6 months Intensive Care Medicine (DCCM) 6 months Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine (DAPM) The role provides supervised clinical experience across a broad tertiary case mix including trauma, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, obstetrics and complex perioperative care.
