Overview
This is an exciting prospect to join the Sort Center Operations team in Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) at Amazon. We are seeking an operations leader to drive engagement and execution excellence in sort center operations. This leader will manage and inspire a team, think autonomously, and work in a fast-paced, data-intensive environment. The shift pattern is 4 days on and 3 days off (Sun to Wed, 8am to 6pm).
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Amazon associates.
- Maintain Health and Safety standards and promote a health and safety culture on-site.
- Oversee and improve performance of sortation operations across a shift; coordinate staff plans and operating schedules.
- Develop a strong performing team with a culture of safety, customer obsession, and engagement.
- Support the development and implementation of process quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Encourage and strengthen the culture of health and safety best practices.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Ability to push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques.
- Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.).
