The Client
Our client supplies Construction Companies with customized Structural Steel either from their stocked items such as Angle Iron, RHS (Rectangular Hollow Steel) and SHS (Square Hollow Steel). They also can Custom Fabricate to clients specification structural steel such as T-Bars, H Beams / Universal Beams and Corner Angles.
Due to a large increase in orders our client is seeking a TA / Yardie to assist 4 Boiler Maker Welders or Production Staff in their very busy work loads.
Training will be provided by the client in production where the TA / Yardie will learn how to cut steel using ban saws, drop saws or plasma cutters through to MIG Welding.
Working Days & Hours
* Location: Rockingham
* Working Days: Monday to Friday
* Working Hours: 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
The Role
The available role has 2 main functions which include;
* TA - Fabrication
* Yardie -Forklift Operating
Training
Training will be provided by the client for Steel Production where the successful TA will have the opportunity to learn the numerous cutting techniques and cutting tools through to MIG Welding and minor fabrication work with an outlook for the TA to move into a Production role once fully trained up.
Trades Assisting
Our client has 2 main sections at their workshop which include;
* Custom Fabrication – T-Bars, H Beams & Corner Angles
* Angle Iron – Cutting to Length
Working across the 2 departments the TA will be carrying out the following responsibilities;
* Assisting up to 4 Boiler Maker Welders or Production Staff in daily tasks
* Working Off Detailed Job Sheets – Includes Steel Type, Quantity, Shop Drawings & Measurements
* Picking Steel for Jobs & Laying out in Production Bays
* Moving Steel to Cutting Tables or Welding Bays operating Overhead Crane
* Precisely Measuring & Marking Up Steel
* Cutting Steel Using Ban Saw, Drop Saw or Plasma Cutting Unit
* Marking / Naming each beam as per Job Sheets
* Bundling Completed Steel Orders & Moving to Laydown Area
* Keeping Workshop / Production areas clean & tidy
Yardie
Candidates must have a Forklift Ticket as the main component of this part of the role is the following;
* Operating a Counter Balance Forklift
* Forklift - Loading Trucks of Completed Orders
* Forklift - Unloading Trucks mainly of Steel Stock
* Checking Deliveries from Consignment Documents ensuring Quantities & Products are correct
* Ensuring Delivery Paper Work is complete & provided to Delivery Drivers
* Keeping the Yard Clean & Tidy
The Candidate
We are seeking a candidate that is desiring to pick up new skills and receive on the job training in structural steel production with an outlook to advance into steel production.
Essential Criteria includes;
* High Risk Forklift Ticket
* Has at least 3 months operating a Forklift in a job role
* Has the outlook to secure long term work with opportunities to learn new skills & progress into more senior roles
* Possess a WA Drivers License
* Is able to pass regular & random Drug & Alcohol Screens
* Is a Permanent Resident

Remuneration
The pay rates below are casual pay rates where you will initially be working through Staff-Net on a casual basis where after 3 to 6 months, the client has had the time to assess your performance and work ethic where a permanent role maybe offered.
* $34.00 to $38.00 Per Hour (Flat)
* + Super
