Your new role
As the EL2 Finance Director, you will lead the delivery of strategic financial management, reporting and governance functions across the organisation. You will oversee the establishment of a new and improved management dashboard reporting service, ensuring high-quality insights are provided to executive stakeholders.
In this senior position, you will prepare financial feasibility analysis, undertake in-depth financial assessments and commercial initiatives, and review project results in relation to costs and budgets. The role additionally involves project budget development, enhancement of project accounting systems, and oversight of complex financial management tasks, including monthly reporting, external budgets and stakeholder management.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Proven experience in senior financial leadership within the APS, at the EL2 level
Strong capability in financial governance, financial analysis, external budgets and strategic reporting
Experience developing management dashboards or enhanced reporting tools
Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial operations, including monthly reporting cycles and asset management processes
Experience preparing feasibility studies and financial assessments for complex projects
Ability to lead, mentor and manage teams within a dynamic and evolving environment
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively across directorates and government partners
High-level written communication and policy development capability
