Our Opportunities
HDR's Architecture Business Group is seeking expressions of interest from experienced architecture professionals with strong technical documentation and drawing skills to join our studios in Melbourne and Sydney.
Due to increasing project demand across our key sectors – Federal, Education & Science, Healthcare and Tech/Media/Telecom (Data Centres) – we are looking for talented individuals, typically with 3-8 years of relevant experience, who can independently produce detailed, high quality construction drawings and documentation packages in the following roles:
Registered Architect
Project Coordinator / Architectural Technician
While we are seeking individuals with strong documentation experience, high quality design outcomes underpin all our work. Candidates who have a strong appreciation for project design outcomes, or expertise in the design phase work, will also be regarded positively. Please note: Due to project requirements, applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet eligibility for Baseline or higher Government Security Clearances.
About You:
Relevant tertiary education in Architecture or related field.
High proficiency in key software including Revit, Rhino.
Previous experience and passion for the key sector typologies that HDR Architecture is known for - Federal, Education & Science, Healthcare and Tech/Media/Telecom & Data – highly regarded.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating the architectural design process, developing alternative solutions and creating compelling presentation graphics to communicate concepts.
The ability to independently produce high quality schematic, design development and construction documentation
Strong visualisation skills including the production of study models, renderings, montages, diagrams and presentations, including same or image boards, to clearly communicate design intent.
A sound understanding of key compliance requirements including DA, CC, BCA/NCC, DDA, and the ability to align documentation with relevant codes and regulations.
Excellent communication skills both internal (team collaboration) and external (consultants, supplies.)
Robust attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate complex designs and manage multiple workstreams.
A proactive, agile working style – open to contributing to various sectors and workstreams as required.
Australian Citizens to meet eligibility for Baseline or higher Government Security Clearances - required.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
A minimum of 5 years professional or internship experience preparing details, specifications and construction documents
Must possess credentials to obtain future registration
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
Desire to pursue growth opportunities and eventually obtain registration
Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
