Role Responsibilities
The Community Mental Health Clinician provides recovery-focused clinical services, including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for older people with mental health issues or behavioural symptoms of dementia.
Selection Criteria
* Tertiary Qualifications and current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist, or relevant qualifications for Social Worker, Counsellor, or Welfare Officer with professional membership eligibility.
* Experience in Older Persons Mental Health practice, including assessments and evidence-based interventions.
* Understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
* Knowledge of mental health rehabilitation and recovery principles, with a collaborative, strengths-based approach.
* High-level communication skills for engaging with consumers, families, carers, and stakeholders, and computer literacy.
* Current unrestricted driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
Additional Requirements
This is a Category ‘A’ position, requiring compliance with NSW Health vaccination policies, including proof of influenza vaccination, especially for work in Residential Aged Care Facilities.
