About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Business Process Quality Specialist to play a key role in the establishment of the Australian Shipbuilder joint venture between ASC and BAE Systems. This position sits within the Quality Process function and is focused on embedding robust quality principles into business processes that support submarine construction. You will contribute to building fit‐for‐purpose production and business systems that drive compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence as Australia prepares to deliver the SSN‐AUKUS program.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality business processes aligned to regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements
* Integrate quality principles into production systems and enterprise business processes
* Lead and support business process modelling, documentation, and redesign activities
* Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and drive process improvement initiatives
* Apply continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality outcomes
* Analyse data and performance trends to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and international capability partners to ensure process alignment
About You
* Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, engineering, information technology, or a related discipline or sufficient experience such that you would be considered 'qualified by experience'
* Experience in quality, business process management, continuous improvement, project management, or related fields
* Strong knowledge of Business Process Management principles, tools, and methodologies (BPMN 2.0 highly regarded)
* Proven ability to design and implement quality assurance processes and systems
* Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, and facilitation skills
* Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, VSM, or similar improvement methodologies (desirable)
* Ability to work flexibly across time zones and travel when required.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
