Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Homelessness Enumeration Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will possess strong stakeholder engagement skills and be able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes. Experience working with or a good understanding of issues faced by people experiencing homelessness is also highly desired.
About the Role
This is a temporary position at the APS 6 classification level. The Homelessness Enumeration Manager will play a vital role in ensuring that people experiencing homelessness can participate in the Census.
The successful candidate will contribute to the collection of accurate data that informs policies and services designed to support people experiencing homelessness. They will implement national procedures and activities such as:
* Developing a homelessness engagement plan
* Leading engagement and collaboration with the homelessness sector
* Recruiting and training field staff
* Overseeing the planning, management and monitoring of homelessness enumeration
* Coordinating efforts with other Census teams
About the Census
The Census of Population and Housing (Census) is run every five years and is one of the largest and most important collections to count the number of people and houses in Australia.
The Census collects information about where we live, age, culture, religion, income, education, living and housing arrangements. This information is used to make important decisions, such as government funding and policy-making.
About Us
We are responsible for designing approaches for specific population groups who face barriers and challenges to participating in the Census. We work with other Census teams to ensure inclusive and supportive user experiences for people experiencing homelessness.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidates will possess all, or most of the following:
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong project and team management experience
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment
Also highly desired: experience working with or a good understanding of issues faced by people experiencing homelessness. Other relevant expertise may also include community services, social work, housing, youth and family services, or community engagement.
