Nurse Unit Manager (Emergency)
Take the lead in one of Central Queensland's busiest and most dynamic Emergency Departments at Rockhampton Hospital. Deliver 24/7 adult and paediatric emergency care, managing everything from minor injuries to major trauma and life‐threatening emergencies, with around 149 presentations daily.
About the Role
In this influential leadership role, you will guide a passionate workforce of staff across Emergency, Short Stay and Transit Lounge services, driving innovation, patient‐centred care, workforce growth and future service development. Working alongside Retrieval Services Queensland, RFDS and multidisciplinary teams, you will make a genuine impact on healthcare across the region.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Emergency Department team, ensuring high standards of patient care and staff wellbeing.
* Oversee daily operations, including bed allocation, patient flow and resource management.
* Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives and compliance with clinical standards.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external providers to optimise service delivery.
* Support workforce development, recruitment, retention and succession planning.
* Analyse performance data and manage budgetary constraints to achieve service goals.
Qualifications
• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Postgraduate qualifications in emergency nursing, leadership and/or management highly regarded.

Compensation
Up to $173,368 p.a., comprising an hourly rate between $***** - $***** p.h., *****% employer superannuation contribution, and 17.5% leave loading.
